Benaras, India (2025)

Varanasi (Banaras) at 4:30 am. As the Ghats of the Ganga awake alongside a rising sun, this soundscape awakes, full of chants and bells from the Ganga Aarti ceremony, and the awakening of life in India's holiest city.

This recording aims to draw the listener into the experience, creating an immersive experience without any effect or edit. The microphone was tactically positioned at a distance away from the ritual and into the crowd,
right on the banks of Maa Ganga.
